Win95 Connection Wizard - ConnectingTo configure your Windows 95 PC (using the Internet Connection Wizard) for alpha dot net access, complete the following instructions. Launch the connection wizard by clicking on Start and then selecting Programs – Internet Explorer – Internet Connection Wizard.
I have an existing Internet account ... : Checked Click Next.
Select this option if you are accessing the Internet using an Internet service provider or loacl area network (LAN): Checked Click Next.
Connect using my phone line: Checked Click Next.
Create a new dial-up connection: Checked Click Next.
Area code: 02 Cick Next.
User Name: yourusername Click Next.
Do you want to change the advanced setting for this connection? Click Next.
What kind of connection do you have? Click Next.
What type of logon procedure does your Internet service provider require? Click Next.
What Internet Protocol (IP) address do you use? Click Next.
Always use the following: Checked Click Next.
Connection name: alpha dot net Click Next.
Do you want to set up an Internet email account now? Click Next.
Display name: Your Name Click Next.
E-mail address: yourusername@alpha.net.au Click Next.
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Type the name of your incoming mail server. Click Next.
Log on using: Checked Click Next.
Internet mail account name: alpha dot net mail Click Next.
Do you want to set up an Internet news account now? Click Next.
Display name: Your Name Click Next.
E-mail address: yourusername@alpha.net.au Click Next.
News (NNTP) server: news.alpha.net.au Click Next.
Internet news account name: alpha dot net newsgroups Click Next.
Do you want to set up your Internet directory service account? Click Next.
The computer should now prompt you to restart. (If it doesn't, close the Control Panel then click the Start button, select Shut Down, then select Restart). Your Windows 95 configuration is now complete. See below for details on configuring your Internet software (for example Web browsers).
