Outlook 4 - Email Setup

To configure Microsoft Outlook 4 for alpha dot net email access, complete the following instructions.

Important: Be sure you have already configured your Mac to connect to alpha. For instructions see the main Mac Setup page – Connect To Us.

Launch Outlook by double-clicking it's icon.

From the menu at the top of your screen select Tools – Accounts.

Click New Account.

In the New Account Window enter the following:

Account name: alpha dot net
Account type: POP

Click OK.

In the main account Information Window enter the following:

Full name: Your Name
E-mail address: yourusername@alpha.net.au
Organisation: Your Company Name (optional)
SMTP server: mail.alpha.net.au
Account ID: yourusername
POP server: mail.alpha.net.au
Password: yourpassword (Make sure Save is checked)
Account name: alpha dot net

Click OK.

Setting up your Outlook 4 email is now complete.

Click Send & Receive to retrieve your email. Click New to send an email.

USERNAMES & PASSWORDS
Usernames and passwords are case sensitive (MYusername is different to myusername, myPassword is different to mypassword) and should contain no spaces. Be sure your "CapsLock" is not on when typing them. These not only identify you to us as clients, but they are vital to your security for email and connectivity. Always keep your password stored in a secure place.
