OSX - ConnectingTo configure your Mac — with OSX — for alpha dot net access, complete the following instructions. Click the System Preferences icon in the Dock (bottom of your screen).
Click Network at the top of the System Preferences screen.
Configure as follows.
Location: Automatic Domain Name Servers: Click the PPP tab.
Service Provider: alpha dot net Click PPP Options.
Check the following check boxes, Under the Session options heading:
Under the Advanced options heading:
Click OK. Click the Proxies tab.
FTP Proxy: squid.alpha.net.au Port: 8080 Click the Modem tab.
Modem: All modern Macs have built-in modems so leave the default – Apple Internal (56k) Modem – setting. Click Save. Setting up your OSX Internet connection is now complete. Launching any program that requires an Internet connection will now use the configuration you've just created. See below for details on configuring your Internet software (for example your Web browser).
