Netscape 4.7 - Setup

To configure Netscape 4.7 for alpha dot net access, complete the following instructions.
Important: Be sure you have already configured your Mac to connect to alpha. For instructions see the main Mac Setup page – Connect To Us.
Launch Internet Netscape 4.7 by double-clicking it's icon.
From the menu at the top of your screen select Edit – Preferences.
From the menu select Advanced – Proxies.
In the Proxies window enter the following:
Manual proxy configuration: checked
And click Configure
In the Manual Proxy Configuration window enter the following:
FTP Proxy: squid.alpha.net.au Port: 8080
Gopher Proxy: squid.alpha.net.au Port: 8080
HTTP Proxy: squid.alpha.net.au Port: 8080
Click OK.
Click OK again (to close the Preferences window).
Setting up your Netscape 4.7 browser is now complete.
You can now enter a Web address (URL) — www.somewhere.com — (for example www.google.com for searching the Web) and press your Return key.
Note: You need to have already setup your connection to alpha dot net – see the Connect To Us options below.
