MacOS8 - Internet Setup AssistantTo configure your Mac — with OS8 — for alpha dot net access, complete the following instructions. First we need to locate the Internet Editor Assistant. Double-click your harddrive icon to open it, then Internet – Internet Utilities – Internet Setup. The Internet Setup Assistant is in this folder, double-click to launch it. Note: Can't find it? In the Finder (click on the desktop) press Command (Apple key) and F at the same time. This will launch the Mac search program. Type Internet Setup Assistant and press Return. If the Internet Setup Assistant is not available see the MacOS 7.6 – 9.2 Manual Setup instructions. The following screen will open.

Does your ISP require that you use a PPP Connect Script when you log in? Click the right arrow to continue.
Is there an IP address for this configuration? Click the right arrow to continue.
What is the DNS address (or addresses) for this configuration? What is the Domain Name (or host name) for this configuration? Click the right arrow to continue.
What is the e-mail address for this configuration? What is the e-mail password for this configuration? Click the right arrow to continue.
What is the email account for this configuration? What is the email host for this configuration? Click the right arrow to continue.
What is the Newsgroup host for this configuration? Click the right arrow to continue.
Do you use proxy servers for Internet connections? Click the right arrow to continue.
Click Go Ahead. Setting up your MacOS8 internet connection is now complete. Launching any program that requires an Internet connection will now use the configuration you've just created. See below for details on configuring your Internet software (for example your Web browser).
