Entourage - Email Setup

To configure Entourage for alpha dot net email access, complete the following instructions.

Important: Be sure you have already configured your Mac to connect to alpha. For instructions see the main Mac Setup page – Connect To Us.

Launch Entourage by double-clicking it's icon. (Inside the Microsoft Office 2001 folder).

From the menu at the top of your screen select Tools – Accounts.

Click New.

Click Configure account manually.

Account type: POP

Click OK.

Account name: alpha dot net
Name: Your name
E-mail address: yourusername@alpha.net.au
Account ID: yourusername
POP server: mail.alpha.net.au
Password: yourpassword
Make sure Save is checked.
SMTP Server: mail.alpha.net.au

Click OK.

The Accounts window should now have an account named alpha dot net (POP). You can now close this window.

Setting up your Entourage email is now complete.

Click Send & Receive to retrieve email. Click New to send an email.


USERNAMES & PASSWORDS
Usernames and passwords are case sensitive (MYusername is different to myusername, myPassword is different to mypassword) and should contain no spaces. Be sure your "CapsLock" is not on when typing them. These not only identify you to us as clients, but they are vital to your security for email and connectivity. Always keep your password stored in a secure place.
